Ashley has been teaching for 15 years. Ashley graduated from Keene State College in 2008 with her Bachelor degrees in Education and Psychology. Then in 2012, Ashley obtained her Master's degree in School Counseling. She began her career as a special educator in Westminster VT, while also working per diem as a residential Direct Care staff here at Community House. After six years as a special educator and a short-term school counselor, Ashley moved on to experience classroom teaching in Brattleboro, VT. Ashley returned to Community House fulltime in the summer of 2020.
Ashley is originally from Vermont, and has a great love for her home state. She enjoys being out in nature, going on hikes, swimming, and exploring the woods. Ashley incorporates nature and hands-on learning into her classroom whenever possible. She is very passionate about her work with children. She has extensive training in trauma informed instruction. Ashley strives to create a therapeutic classroom environment which allows all children to learn and prosper, regardless of their life situations.
