Ashley has been teaching since 2008. She holds Bachelor degrees in Education and Psychology, and a Master's degree in School Counseling. She began her career as a special educator, while also working per diem as a residential Direct Care staff here at Community House. Ashley has worked as a special educator, school counselor and classroom teacher. She returned to Community House fulltime in the summer of 2020.
Ashley loves the state of Vermont. She enjoys being out in nature, going on hikes, swimming, and exploring the woods. Ashley incorporates nature and hands-on learning into her classroom whenever possible. She is very passionate about her work with children. She has extensive training in trauma-informed instruction. Ashley strives to create a therapeutic classroom environment which allows all children to learn and prosper, regardless of their life situations.
