Barbara has worked in education since 2004, in both the independent and public school settings and both general and special education. She taught finance and marketing classes at at the high school level, as well as leading their chapter of FBLA. She has also woked in childrens residential settings. Barbara worked as a principal in a small public school for two years, and a small independent, special education school for two years before joining Community Schoolhouse in 2021. She strives to create a supportive and understanding culture in our school.
Barbara has lived in the Brattleboro area her whole life. She enjoys spending time with her family, dog and two cats.
Alison
Alison has been employed within the Community House program since 2004, after completing her Bachelors in Social Work. She began as a per diem employee then moved to team leader in the residential program. After one year as the teaching assistant in the residential classroom, Alison joined the day school as the teaching assistant in the middle school classroom.
In 2013, Alison became the administrative assistant. Upon completion of her Special Education Certification f in 2020, Alison became the Special Education Coordinator. She completed her Masters in Leadership and Instruction in 2022.
Alison enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and hiking in the White Mountains.
